AIM and Facebook not working

For some reason my AIM and Facebook seems to not be working. I am new to iphone. Which I have recently just purchased the iphone 1st generation unlocked. When I open up my AIM or facebook it tries to load but doesnt and just brings me back to the homescreen.. any help?

uninstall them
And re download them , that should do the trick

also make sure you have wifi i had no internet at my house for a day and i thought it wasn't a big deal and i could use my aim on my phone until i tried it and no aim then when i had wifi signal it worked no problem

oh yes i definately have internet heh.. also how would i uninstall apps
