Solution for T-mobile or T-zone Edge "outage"
I don't know if anyone found the solution for this yet but if theres a post already, just tell me and I'll delete it. If not then I hope this will help you.
I recently had my Edge on my iPhone 3g turning on and off and found out this wasn't just me. I called tmobile and told them what was going on and the guy said that there has been some outage but then why was my friend's sidekick working who was sitting right next to me?
I got frustrated with it and decided to just pop the sim card into blackberry(tmobile) and see if the edge was working. It was. Then popped it back into my iphone, restarted it and it worked! My "E" was there again! And it has been there ever since.
I shared this trick with a few others and it worked for them too. So if you have an Tmobile phone lying around, pop your sim card in and it. Make sure the edge or "t-zone" is on and try browsing a bit with it. Then pop it back into the iPhone do a soft reset and it should work.
Hope this information helps!

Do you think just taking the SIM card out and popping it back in would be the same thing?

This solution is for people who have tried taking out the sim or restarting the phone either soft reset of hard reset, and still not receiving edge on their device. If you've tried what I've mentioned and it worked for you, then you don't have to use the solution I've posted above. If it hasn't work, then try the solution.

I just restarted my iphone too and edge started working again. I didn't change my data plan or nothing.
I think whoever switched their data plans are screwed. Solely because I don't think they'd give you back your tzones. About a week ago, I called tmobile and asked them to put the tzones plan on my number (we have a family plan and my dad also has it on his phone). So I had an agenda when I called. I didn't ask them about nothing, they didn't have reason to suspect anything. Maybe if you guys take that same approach, they might just put it back on your phone. Call them back and say you just got your bill and be like "What is this new data plan that costs $20 or whatever. I've always had a t-zones plan and I don't remember ever changing it. I would like this stopped and reverted back to my old plan" or something along those lines. I don't know... that's what I would say anyway.

I have the same problem and another one too. When I go on wifi then go back to edge the E is gone. I have to reboot everytime. Anyone else have this problem. I have a 3g quickpwn to 2.1 and unlocked via turbo sim.
