I had the same problem with mine, there was no APN option in settings and the APN editor from Cydia did nothing. Just go to unlockit.co.nz from your iphone and choose US-Tmobile APN, create it and install works like a charm.

I didn't apply any TZone hack. I just did the epc.tmobile.com thing . It works but it is real slow. Will applying the hack help me. Alot of people talk about the hack, but there is no real solution. Will somebody just outline it in layman's terms.

Have you tried different APN's thurman? And are you testing your speeds with a full 5 bars? I am assuming you're referring to the speed being slow from average usage right, not from speedtest?

    Default 2G iPhone, no APN.

I have been researching how to unlock my iphone, but so far no luck. After installing QuickPwn my iphone is working on wi-fi, but I can't make any phone calls. I went in to switch the info in settings for APN, but the APN is simply not there. I have followed the posts and tried to look for APN editor on Cydia, nothing there. Used t-mobile hack didn't work, removed it--didn't work, used bootneuter--didn't work, used that site the guy keeps posting (unlockit)--didn't work. It's so frustrating! Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if this is redundant, but it seems like I have tried what has been posted on this forum.

itzbilly... Thanks for responding. Removed sim card and put back, still no signal.

It's frustrating because I used to have a working t-mobile iphone, but yesterday accepted an iphone update from apple itunes which rendered my phone usesless. Changed my t-mobile setting somehow. So I researched and ran Quickpwn (PwnTool wouldn't work--gave me an error code). Now, I'm sitting here with a phone that doesn't make or take calls...

Would you by any chance be using an iPhone 3G? From what I saw on this site about the 2.2 update for the iPhone 3G, you can't hack the baseband and that may be the cause of your problems.

Also, have you tried inserting the sim card in a different t-mobile phone to see if it's a problem with the sim card?

Itzbilly ... My iPhone is not a 3G--has the silver back to prove it The sim card is working. Checked in old t-mobile phone. The Quickpwn jailbroke my phone, but perhaps it didn't unlock it? For what I read the Quickpwn is supposed to do both. Is there another unlock program out there? All I want is for my iPhone to once again run properly with t-mobile.

If you can get to calls and such and such, the iphone should already be unlocked. If you want to try other unlocking methods, I know of Pwnagetool and Ziphone.

Default Unlocking iPhone 2G for T-Mobile Users when SIM isn't working.

Hi, all. Just want to post my latest experience with my T-Mobile iPhone. I had recently accepted an update through the iTunes store and it rendered my iPhone useless. Previously it had worked on a Ziphone hack done a year or more ago. To "fix" my phone I tried a number of QuickPwn and Pwn Tool programs. Nothing seemed to work... I got error messages and did get a working Quickpwnd phone, but not able to make or recieve calls (it only worked on wi-fi). None of the Cydia apps would "unlock" it. Finally, I tried this sequence to the letter and it worked. I definitely wanted to share this info as it took a whole day to get this back up and working. You can see my posts earlier. Thanks to itzbilly for at least answering my querries. No one else seemed interested in helping. This is the link to follow. Good luck. I own a 2G iphone that works off t-mobile service.

In regards to getting your APN options back:

    Cydia>Manage>Sources>Add>sinfuliphonerepo.com>MMS and Tethering

Install, then go into your Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network

There you have it. Btw obviously this will install one of the best MMS settings for T-Mobile so that you may have clear pictures. In case you don't already know, the APN for MMS is either wap.voicestream.com or epc.tmobile.com.

And of course now your internet APN is available to be entered.
