Activate iphone with tmobile

How can I activate my iphone 3G 2.1 firmware with tmobile?
I have a gevey3g sim card with tmobile sim that i put into the phone and I can see that I have service. However I can't get pass the "sync to itunes menu" Please help me guys, my iphone is useless until i can fix this!
