just tried this. ive gotten almost 100 kbps faster dl speeds. obviously this will fluctuate, but i have never broken 200 before!! 225 kbps ftw!! So totally worth $5.99/month!

Edit: My mxtube actually works via edge with this setting as well. both streaming and download. wouldn't work with anything but wifi using the other settings.

Edit Edit: simultaneous test of different apn's wap = 76 kbps, epc = 443 kbps. thank you for this. i'll say it again, $5.99/mo is a steal!!

I dont even pay $5.99/month ...actually I dont pay a dime a month and I have it working...hahahaha
ButI have a prepaid sim and I put like $100 on it to get the Gold Rewards to last me a long time back in June, haven't paid anythign since and this internet is almost as fast as 3G....

i can't connect to the app store with the new apn it says "cannot connect to iTunes store" and "cannot retrieve download information. Please connect with iTunes" any body else having this problem?????

Oh my god your the best I couldn't get a connection for 2 weeks and it's definitely faster....I can now use my instant messaging without no problems thanks.

I conducted 3 test in a row with 98, 198 and a 403kbps how i got the last one i dont know. I guess it got use to the website that i using to do the test.

My epc.tmobile.com just working now, I did try this setting for the past 2 weeks and it's just work today. I believe T-Mobile just update to this setting in my area today (in OC So. Cal.)

Youtube also working on Edge with this setting. Speed is faster than an old wap.

Which voicestream APN? internet2/3 or wap?

If you already have the total internet plan, then this thread isn't for you.

But if you have T-Zones, then this new APN is definitely advantageous. The wap.voicestream.com is very constricted: download limit (which is horrible for streaming), latency issues (also quite bad for streaming and loading up of Safari, Weather, etc), and limited to ~7-10 open ports among other things.

I think a vast majority of users would much rather have chat client access, streaming media, YouTube, etc., over iTunes and App Store access. I know I would, and this is what this new APN provides.

I tried on my friend 's iphone (1st gen) week ago .
- epc.tmoble.com . working as good as mine.
The thing is : He does not have Tzone service , none total inernet2 either.
Can some ones explain that ?

it seems that the ip address and the apn is determined by your area. my old ip "10.0.0.0" wprked at home but not at work. the "25.0.0.0" works at work but not at home.

the new apn just seems to make it load much faster.

anyone with a tzones hack for 2.0+ wanna copy their proxy.pac file for us 1.1.X users????

it has both the 10.0.0.0 and the 25.0.0.0 in one file. so you get whichever one is available (for people like me that cover two areas)


my speeds with 2 bars of signal and the tzones 5.99 and apn set to epc.tmobile.com on inetworktest

For the last time: There is no need for the T-Zones proxy hack with the new APN. Whether you're on 1.1.x or 2.x.x.

Works just fine for me in MN (Minneapolis area). iTunes & App store doesn't work, everything else does - including youtube, Gmail, and Pandora. I'm running the latest 2.1 firmware.

Why uninstall the hack? It sounds like you might to install the tzones hack, How long since you added the $5.99 tzones? Are you sure it's activated by Tmobile?
