T Zones $5.99 proxy hack made easy=)

I know it's been out for a while but I haven't seen any thread explaining how to perform this easy hack. If there is a thread on it please forgive me for starting another thread on this.

THIS IS FOR USA T-MOBILE USERS (tested working on 1.1.1 and 1.1.2)

1-on installer app go to "sources"
2-click on "edit" the click "add"
3-type in iphone.surrealnetworks.com/repo
4-hit ok
5-hit refresh
6-go to install section find "surreal networks"
7-install T-Mobile T-Zones Proxy
8-re-boot your phone

after installing go to settings>>>General>>>Network>>>EDGE>>>on APN field type in wap.voicestream.com leave Username and Password blank.

You just saved yourself $14 a month for the same service as the $19 a month plan. Enjoy!

You should also install Sticky APN so your APN settings are saved when you reboot or turn off your phone.

BTW this is working 100% for me.

EDIT: Please take note you tube does not with EDGE with this hack. You Tube will work fine with wifi.

Also, the hack may not appear to work right away. It will take about 5 minutes for your phone to recognize the settings so give it a little time.

Sticky APN is not needed on version 1.1.2

***FIRMWARE 1.1.3***

In installer go to All Packages and install Bigboss's Beta/Experimental Source
go to Tweaks (1.1.3)
install T-Mobile 1.1.3 TZones Hack
Restart phone and your done!

***FIRMWARE 1.1.4***

In installer go to Tweaks 1.1.4 and select T-Mobile 1.1.4 TZones Hack
Install Restart phone and your good to go!

Works amazingly well!!
If people do not want to install sticky apn: this is the method to "stick" your apn:
1. Open iphonebrowser (or connect using ftp)
2. Go to /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/UnknownCarrier.plist
3. Save the file unknowncarrier.plist and open it thru notepad
4. Go to
<dict>
<key>apn</key>
<string>HERETYPEYOURAPN</string> For t-zones type wap.voicestream.com
<key>password</key>
[...]
</dict>
<dict>
<key>apn</key>
<string></string> Leave it blank
<key>password</key>
[...]
</dict>
5. Only change the first one not the second <dict> as specified above
6. back to iphonebrowser and replace unknowcarrier.plist with the one you just edited
6. You're good to go and you havent had to install yet another software (useful one tho)

Okay so,
i have my iphone FW 1.1.1
I bought a prepaid tmobile card yesterday.
So I just put this card in my phone download this stuff and thats it?
i dont have to add this tzones plan to my acount? but how do the get the 5.99 dollars from me? they do not have anything...
please help

It's me again.
If it is not working with a prepaid tmobile card. could you just say me what i plan i have to buy?
I mean at the tmobile page are all this plans, so wich should i use?

i dont know if when you get pay as you go t-mobile they offer a t-zones that is deducted from the amount you put in your cell credit. Call 611 and ask them out.
If it's not possible get any plan and add the t-zones add-on.

UPDATE

I upgraded my phone to 1.1.2 from 1.1.1 and the proxy hack still works!
BTW there is no need to do the sticky APN process on 1.1.2 It will hold the APN if your turn off or reboot your phone without any hack.

Would it work when I buy this total tmobile internet plan for 39.99? because the cheapest plan is for 24.99.. and if I add then tzones to it it would be like 30 bucks...

T Mobile Total Internet costs $19.99

T Mobile web aka T Zones costs $5.99

You got your prices wrong. I suggest you go to the T Mobile site and look it up. You can change your plan right from there.

But I do not hava a "real" plan. I have a prepaid card from tmobile...
And like some people said, unlimited edge is not working with a prepaid card.
so i have to buy a real plan. and the cheapest is there for 24.99 ( induviual plan) and the cheapest only total internet plan is 39.99...

Guys, i really dont care any more. I just want internet almost everywere with edge. and this unlimitted.

When I go on www.t-mobile.com i choose plans. there is the cheapest internet plan for 39.99.
please help me but there is nothing about a 19.99 total internet plan.

Actually I just wanted to go the the tmobile store tomorrow and buy a plan. I dont want to call a lot or to text messages... i just want unlimited internet with edge...

This worked great!! I didnt use sticky apn, i had deleted i believe the unknown carrier.plist file a while ago when i first upgraded to 1.1.1 (not for sure what file, so plz dont delete that, but it is listed on another guide somewhere here.) Anyway thanks for this EASY and fast hack.

I added the t-zones service to my phone and followed these instructions. I turned off WIFI to test and I get an E in the menu bar but it doesn't connect to anything, not even mail. In safari I get the error:
internal error. You do not have access to the site in search.google.com/search?q

did you sign up for T Zones with T Mobile? Are you in the united states?

you won't get additional charges and youll have full Internet access.
