T Zones $5.99 proxy hack made easy=)

I have tried everything, with Surrealnetworks hack i am able to see an ip address at bossprefs, but only the yahoo page works, but wihout any images. the limited edition hack doesnt work at all. and the boss hack, whoch is the one that is explain in this tread, doesnt work and dont even show an ip address on the edge on bossprefs. I have done it so many times I am frustrated. now I even try the plan for $9.99 for receiving emails. and has tzones as well, still doesnt work. Any sugestions? please I need a hand.

YES!! it finally works after 3 trys i got it to work. I tried it the first time and nothing would work at all. So i uninstalled it...., Tried some other stuff that didnt work, then tried it again on a different day. Still nothing... uninstalled it again. Than last night i read a post i seen in this thread about trying some different APNs (internet2.voicestream.com or internet3.voicestream.com) and thought id try that method. So i downloaded bigboss's, tweaks(1.1.3)- TZone hacks. After the restart, i powered down my phone and then turned it back on. Since i have free WiFi at work and non at home, i didnt check to see if it would worked. So this afternoon i started up the phone turned off the WiFi search, and checked to see if "wap.voicestream.com" was in the APN box. It was, so i exited out and check to see if anything was working. Weather updated for like 40 - 50 sec. and it WORKED. Checked Safari and nothing happened....... till i updated the page, it WORKED. Google maps kinda works i got the map up but my searches couldn't be found. Stocks work, and lastly youtube dosent work. All in all im happy great job.

I have a brand New 8GB iPhone 1.1.3 jailbroken with ZiPhone
Tested network speed is 98.1 kbps

Indeed I've acheived the same thing, but my speeds are quite bad, I'm averaging 50kbps.

Did you type in a username and password? I have the APN showing wap.voicestream.com, but I can't get it to work.

I posted a t-zones proxy hack that does not use a proxy.pac script.

This should work on all firmware versions and seems to be a cleaner way.

Hi guys .. Hope this helps someone out there.. I was having problems with T-Mobile T-Zones .. Only thing working was gmail emails.. I am getting 502 error message in safari.. I was so frustrated I did Restore 1.1.4 following Ziphone instructions I performed the UnLock..which is the Easiest Before you do that...do you have Community Sources Installed? It turns out I forgot to install Community Sources.. see if you have it installed? Once I installed it my FULL T-Zones was back

After my Restore to 1.1.4 & UnLock I did the following (Perform in order):
*Select Installer.app > Select Install > All Packages > Community Sources > Install
*Select Installer.app > Select System > BSD Subsystem > Install
*Select Installer.app > Select Install > All Packages > OpenSSH > Install

T-Zones $5.99 Proxy Hack (If you currently have these, UnInstall & ReInstall Them):
Select Installer.app > Select Install > All Packages > Bigboss's Beta/Experimental Source > Install
Select Install > Tweaks (1.1.3) > Install T-Mobile 1.1.3 TZones Hack..
Settings > General >Network > Edge > APN: type in: wap.voicestream.com Leave Username & PassWord Blank

Restart phone and your done!

It is a feature in Google Maps, bottom left corner (looks like crosshairs). Tap on it and see if it locates you or just swirls indefinitely.

I can't seem to get a definitive answer to that either. The lack of a good answer is the only thing keeping me from updating to 1.1.4 right now. If t-zones 5.99 plan won't work with 1.1.4 - upgrading is out of the question, for me.

I keep waiting for '1.1.4 tweaks' to show up in installer - maybe that's where the hack will be?

You shouldn't be having issues with WiFi. Try uninstalling everything (T-zones proxy hack, etc) in Installer, then reset your Network (in Settings -> General -> Reset). Then try logging back onto your router so see if its working, followed by installing the t-zones apps. Then reset your iPhone and wait a few minutes.

Youtube streams its media thru another port, not the port that the tzone uses port 5050. Which is why it is the only app causing some mild stress. I recommend going to youtube on wifi to allow the basic files to install which will make it easier for you to use youtube on tzones. This worked for me the only page I have trouble with now is the featured page the others are fine slow but fine. Youtube is probably slow on everyones network at least compared to the 900 kbs some can get at home using the iphone wifi. DO NOT upgrade your tmobile internet to the 19.99 plan it wont go any faster and it will just cost you more and may cause you grief setting it up. and when you do (if you do) set it up you'll enjoy the same experience we all are using 5.99 plan. Love tmobile. Hope this helps.
