T-mobile hotspot issue

i have iphone + t-mobile $5.99 plan. my friends has $19.99 plan and give his password to me. when i'm at starbucks, my iphone can see tmobile wifi, but can NOT use my friend's password to login

even worse is i already hack the $5.99 so that i can access internet, but in starbucks, iphone does NOT switch to EDGE automatically, i have to manually turn off wifi, then i can browse website

anyone has experience how to solve it?

You should be able to connect to the WiFi network in Starbucks without any password at all, and then when you go to any website in Safari, it will ask you for your login and password, THATS where you should input his info.

in fact, i do check with my friend. we go together to starbucks; he also has iphone with T-mobile $19.99, when he input the usrname (his phone #) & password to his iphone, he can access hotspot; while he input information in my iphone, i can NOT login

i think t-mobile wifi is smart enough to recognize my cell #, so that will kick me off their hotspot
