11-16-2007, 06:06 AM #1Please Help!!! Phone says it needs to be repaired
Really need your help!!!
Bought an iPhone in Chicago 2 days ago from an apple store
I followed this tutorial here to unlock
All the steps seemed to work, but after i inserted my UK T-mobile Sim card i now get this error!!!
Repair Needed: iPhone cannot make or receive calls
How bad is this?
Does it really need repairing or is there a way past it?
I Fly back to the UK this evening, if it really is toast can i put it back in a state i can return to the apple store to replace???
The Guy who written the above tutorial apparently writes on this board
But it seems impossible to register on the site, can anyone help out with a temp pass?
Thanks for any help out there....

I had this happen to me as well. Just restore to 1.0.2 and start it all over. Don't forget to downgrade your baseband and virginize. All Tutorials can be found on this wonderful Site here. Do not bring back the Phone to the Apple store without restoring and virginizing your baseband, otherwise you are in troubles ...
BTW what is your current Firmware and and Modem?

Hey, thanks Xandili,
I'm off to work now, so not got time to go through the restore procedure.
But are you saying i can definately still save this phone?
Just worried that by the time i get back to the UK i won't be able to return it to the original store if it really was damaged...

Thanks for the update,
the firmware was 1.1.1 as i found from a tutorial here
On the emergency dial screen dial *3001#12345#* and tap Versions. Firware version should be 04.01.13_G.
good to know i don't have to panic return it tonight or lose $400
In terms of restoring and starting from scratch, which tutorial/method do you recommend as there seems too many different ways.
If you have already had the same problem and got it fixed i would like to follow the same path as you
1-0 to England so far ;-)
Referring to your earlier question, how do i know what modem i have?
