Is AT&T's Edge faster than anything T-mobile has?

I actually tested my iPhone on the $5.99 T-zones plan right next to my friend's AT&T iPhone.

My speed - 141kbps
Her speed - 134 kbps

=] needless to say I felt pretty happy. Also, I felt pretty bad for her.

I had the sidekick3 b4 i switch to iphone(obviously i still have the sidekick plan which is unlimited internet plus messaging$19/month),i tried the internet2.voicestream.com signed as guest, blank,etc,i tried everything but it still appears as i have no edge activated could anyone please help me?

i have done a side by side with my mom who is on At&t, I am t-mobile. The t-mobile edge was faster in the few places I tried.
