Use Home Mac as Cloud?
I recently switched from a Macbook Pro to a Mac Pro and a Air.
Now I was wondering if I could somehow manage to setup my Mac Pro at home as a "cloud" so that I can have access to all my documents from my macbok air worldwide...
I was thinking of installing snow leopard server but 600.- is just a little expensieve.. Is there any other way I could do that? Like of remote desktop or another vnc client that lets me access my mac from around the world?
Thanks for your help!I don't give a damn about Chuck Norris, Spongebob can grill under water!

The best would be to setup a VPN server on your Mac Pro and then connect to it on your MacBook Air via Apple's built-in VPN software. This will provide you secure access to not only your Mac Pro, but your entire network. You can mount your Mac Pro's hard drive remotely. Also, Remote Desktop or VNC access is easy then.
Easy to use VPN server for your Mac Pro: Squashed Software
Alternatively, you could setup your Mac Pro to run as a WebDav or FTP server. If you don't use a VPN server, you can still access your Mac Pro via Remote Desktop or VNC. That will only allow control. The best is still to setup a VPN server.
Keep in mind, that any of these solutions require you to configure port forwarding on your router to your Mac Pro. This all sounds confusing, but is super easy! I run a OS X server, but this is all possible on a client OS X too.

Zumo Cast ZumoCast - Stream your media to iPhone, iPad, and any browser. It's your personal cloud. gives you full access to everything you want to share using an iphone app or a web page and its free! I've setup many friends to use that, also good for streaming music/videos to your devices while driving :P

I will... still working on it, don't have that much time next to work, at the moment I'm using teamviewer but this won't be my final solution I guess..I don't give a damn about Chuck Norris, Spongebob can grill under water!
