Okay so I am going to be buying a Macbook Pro on Monday and I have all my music, apps and contacts on my PC.
What would be the best way to transfer them over to the Macbook Pro?
I could put the Music on the external HD drive but can I do the same with the apps and also what about my contacts they are backed up via Windows contacts.

You can transfer apps to your external HD. There is a program that allows you to backup your contacts. Or, just write them down on a piece of paper and later put them on your iPhone. Don't forget to transfer your iTunes library file as well. Another way to transfer your music and applications is by Home Sharing on iTunes.Asking for help is different from being stupid. Fanboys can rot in @#$%!

Also for your apps. Once you login to iTunes on your Mac everything will showup again. I just did the same thing.
