    Default New Mac Questions
Ok, so just a few days ago I got our new mac mini in the mail (technically through FedEx) . I have a few questions. I read the manual (crazy I know lol) and in there it said nothing about the install DVDs (and the applications DVD) other than reinstalling them. So, is Snow Leopard already installed or is it just not in the manual? Thanks.

Btw for those curious of the specs:
    • 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    • 4GB memory
    • 320GB hard drive1
    • 8x double-layer SuperDrive
    • NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
and I haven't been able to start it up because I still need the keyboard and the mouse, which were supposed to be delivered today but haven't yet lol

All new Macs should ship with 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). The disc it comes with will be the version preinstalled. Also, once you boot up, it will go through the whole SNnow Leopard video and whatnot. you can also check your version in Mac OS X by going to the Menu-Bar > Apple > About This Mac (located far left of menu-bar).
Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

Ok, thanks. I was also wondering, is it possible to use the DVD that came with the new mac on my older mac? Thanks again.

You could try. Sometimes discs that come with a Mac are usable only on that model. They're not like the generic discs that you get when you buy Mac OS X separately.

Grats on the new mac. I also like to go through manuals for new "toys". I just bought a new 27in iMac i5. I got it to drop my macbook and desktop pc to just have one computer.

Of course I am the dork that also reads every part of every years work employee handbook and rules. I laugh though when I get to work the loop-holes against the managers and point it out in the handbook that we have to sign every year. But my manager liked the part about being able to drink at certain meetings if it is done responsibly and with moderation.
