Thread: iOS7x Theme GUIDE

  1. #81
I successfully themed the icons but the icons are semi-transparent.
I don't know what is causing it.
Another interesting point is that the icons' transparency follows the transparency of the lockscreen clock.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

super1996 Do you have transparent icons check on inside of Winterboard? If not, try reinstalling mobilesubstrate.
btw, are you manually theming? if not and you're using Winterboard, how were you able to theme AppStore?
I know you have to use com.apple.AppStore and Appstore120.png but nothing changes? Any idea anyone

Thanks for the fast reply. No I didn't have anything checked inside Winterboard. I just try it again, and I realised it is the theme which is causing me this problem. My icons became semi-transparent out of the sudden @_@ I looked through the tweaks I have but it seems none of them are causing this. The biggest prime suspect is Bigify but I already uninstalled it long ago so I don't know what is causing this problem.

My theme is not manually themed. I theme it using Winterboard and it is an IOS 6 theme which miraculously works. I didn't theme it at Theme/Bundles but Theme/Icons. The names of the icons are AppStore and AppStore@2x. Hope it helps

As dsg said, u also must retain the black area of the mask of u want that part of the icon to show. Transparency in the AppIconMask now removes that part if the icon png.

Must also be saved as png-24

Be careful uploading by iFunbox. It kills the png-24 part. I zipped my AppIconMask file png & dragged into MobileIcons.framework, unzipped by iFile & cleared my cache rebooted.

How did you do that? My thoughts are yes. I have a A4 copy unfortunately my i5 is STRICTLY staying on iOS6. Are most of ya settings icons now missing? Usually happens...don't delete files in the future. Simply rename. Otherwise u will end up in a situation of having to restore

Ok been playing around with some Settings icons, well with iOS7 in the main Settings pane when you open the Settings app ALL of those icons are controlled by the "[email protected]" file. Unfortunately this file has NEVER been extracted so in short these icons are unable to be themed ATM (Will need to wait for WB hooking support like iOS6 offered) You can theme some of the sub menus in the Settings app with the 58x58px Icon-Small pngs found within the App folders. Remember to clear the "com.apple.IconsCache" folder then respring to apply the changes.

here is a screenshot with the [email protected]k file renamed (so effectively the iOS doesnt call on it).

    -img_0009.png

I have also provided a screenshot with the Settings "Sub Menu" themed with my own icon from the SMS App and Also TableIconMask@2x~iphone.png themed of course as png-24

    -img_0008.png

To get ALL the names of the [email protected]k files simply open the "Settings.plist" in the Preferences App and you will find ALL the names that you will need to use when WB is released. I will put a list up but I just havent got time at the moment.

All in all I think there's 38 icons contained within the "[email protected] file. U can see this if you open the file in a Hex Editor and scroll to the bottom.

If you save the image as a jpg then rename it as png then the black area will be transparent and white & gray will show. You can get a little more detail that way.

I've had this discussion on Twitter, if it was me & as Saurik has mentioned I wouldn't be running any hacked together MS or WB builds. Probably more than likely cause a host of ongoing problems. They say manual themeing is dangerous but running the MS/WB builds floating around in Cyberspace is not my cup-o-tea...

Manual themeing is safe, AS LONG AS YOU MAKE BACKUPS OF THE ORIGINAL IMAGES/FILES!!!!!!

Just put every icons into the 'Icons' folder and it should work
For example, the app 'Messages' will have icons
    'Messages' & 'Messages@2x' in Themes/Icons

    Winterboard will have
    'WinterBoard' & 'WinterBoard@2x'

All of the icons fall into the same folder

This way of winterboard theming is able to work for almost every application.
I have troubles theming 'Clock' and 'Newsstand' though.
Does anyone have any idea how to do so?

For theming the clock you need to change also ClockIconBackgroundSquare@2x~iphone inside the System/Library/Springboard.app.

Of course backupand rename this file before change it!
