Would my first step be to locate the .car and move it to my computer? Where is it? Path and file name? And should I be doing this test on my 4S or my 5S?
For those who want to use an updated Winterboard and not rely on manual theming, I would think that the .car files would need to be hooked from a basic file within a corresponding app folder or UIKit directory. Just like Winterboard recognizes the old shared.artwork files by hooking them out of a very simple "UIImages" folder within a theme package.

Exactly Tim. Just like how WB hooked the UIKit in iOS6 & below for the .artwork files. Should be possible.

Yuh that was/is the goal. But also another goal would be to extract the .car files without XCode.

I haven't even looked, there's about 20/30 files in the artwork Xcode project & I'm just not too sure how it all works. The .car extractor doesn't need to rely on your iDevice to extract. It just walks thru the iOS7SDK. So all that's really needed is to reverse the extract project process but its not as simple as Dave Pecks extractor tool on importing/exporting

But isn't it just as easy as hitting the recompile button in Xcode after you change the images you want from the various folders that result after the decompile?

Nope, I said I wasn't Xcode savvy. Only time I've used it is to extract the artwork by running the project.

Actually I personally don't think it'll be that easy just to do a straight recompile.

Dave Pecks iOS-artwork extractor/recompiler did quite a bit more than @0xceds extractor.

Dave's used the original .artwork file as a template on the recompile process for the symbols, offsets etc. @0xceds extractor is just that & I'd imagine it'll need additional info included in the Xcode project to gather/store possibly the new information Dave Peck pointed out that is now associated with .car files. Whether its capable of that I'm unsure

It was only every intended to extract the files, not for recompiling them like Jato says; it will need a lot of work to get it to recompile the .car files. Unless 0xceds had any plan to be able to recompile

The car must be too wrecked for extraction. Unless you're recompiling the whole iOS, NewD.

The worst would be if you ventured too far in your .car without location turned on.

How about one of you guys FIRST decompile the MainWindow.nib for the ModMyI.app and redo the UI?!?!

I cannot figure out how to open it up... Furthest I've gotten is to the keyedobjects.nib and now I'm stuck.

After we have a good looking App, then return to your .car files! LOL! ;-)
