Thread: iOS6x Theme GUIDE

  1. #1801
I have the ios5 SB Settings theme im trying to theme. I just changed the color from blue to red and put the files back in but the theme still doesnt change. Also i tried changing the Maps icon and the APPinfo icon and they dont change. I used iCleaner and it fixed some icons that wouldnt change but the SB settings theme and the Maps/APPinfo Icons wont change. Can someone point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

  2. #1802
AppInfo fails to fetch the correct data sometimes, I prefer to look through the apps Info.plist with iFile to find the correct icon names and bundle ids, also some apps icons require the correct icon size for them to theme

for SBSettings did you try selecting the theme

SBSettings - More - Dropdown Window Theme/Notification Theme

Yeah it automatically resprings when u change the sb settings theme

I was thinking maybe it was a cache issue that iCleaner didnt fix

  8. #1806
try typing uicache in mobile terminal then type respring

U need to respring via WB, as that clears the caches. SBS doesn't as far as I'm aware.

Thanks for the help. I changed the maps icon, the appinfo i guess will just stay like that lol couldnt find any other icon except the small ones that were like 50x50 something and this huge one that was like 500x500 something.

As for the Sbsettings theme, i just deleted the whole folder and changed the name and added the folder back, applied theme and respringed and i got it to show up.

    Thanks

Are you talking about the AppInfo icon that's displayed on the home screen?

    Try Bundle ID: com.mileskabal.appinfo
    Icon name: [email protected]
    Size: 118x120px

So place your themed 114x114px icon image onto a transparent 118x120 pixel canvas & save.

EDIT: To change the AppInfo "Settings" icon it looks like this has to be manually themed.

    Nav to /Library/PreferenceLoader/Preferences

The file named "[email protected]" is the file displayed in the Settings menu.

Change that file as required. I would rename it to [email protected] & leave it in there.

    RESPRING via WB

    Hope that helps.

Yes, have a look at the very first post & go to the "Settings menu" jump to section. I have explained in detail how to theme the native/default settings icons & their names.

The fully understand all of that its best to extract your [email protected]k file.

    It's located

    /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework

The tutorial is here iOS .ARTWORK file Extractor (with Tutorial)

Myself I just themed all the status bars the same. There are 3, the UI Bars there are A LOT. Like you pointed out different apps use different files/UI Bars.

Or you can enable "Record UIImages"
In WB which captures "some" of the artwork pngs & are stored in /tmp/UIImages

To enable goto "Advanced(For Themers) in WB then turn on "Record UIImages)

The badges assuming notification badges on icons are located in the SpringBoard.app

    /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app

    [email protected]

    Goes in "com.apple.springboard"

AppInfo in the settings app can be themed in winterboard, but you gotta add the info.plist file that I've said before. This will also theme some of those other ones that wont theme.

Thanks King, do you have a working Info.plist you can share or put up? Would be handy indeed!

I can post mine if you want, but it's best to see it already started, so you can "connect the dots". My theme is setup the way KOH mentioned, so if you want you can check to see how I've done with appinfo, zephyr etc, in my main icon package. There's an "extras" folder in there that explains it to some extent. This isn't a "buy my theme" advertisement, as its all free, so it honestly doesn't bother me either way. Thank you.

No worries. Inside the zip is an extras folder containing the .plist and some basic instructions for where to place your own icons. The name of the bundle in the theme, corresponds to the BundleID in the .plist. The only problem with this method being widely implemented is there doesn't seem to be a universal bundle name. So if implemented into a deb install, the only theme to work "out of the box" is the last one you've installed/updated, because the .plist would theoretically be overwritten...from what I can understand. Thank you.

Thanks King & also too Sk37cH for providing working modded info.plists. I agree with u too King. @Sk37cH post as necessary.

Hey it worked great. A really good work around for theming icons that don't have Bundle IDs.

A sweet simple/basic plist that works with minimal effort. 👍

EDIT: King do other non themable icons also get stored in this location? I only have AppInfo in there but I see other plists are in there.

Does Zephyr etc also install to

    /Library/PreferenceLoader/Preferences

I like the way you designated it the Bundle ID: com.Preferences.Settings

Will a repo let you package it up so it installs via the DEB file to the users handset at this location or does it need to be manually moved?

    Thanks once again!

Ok. After seeing kings, that looks better. Is this standardized? I've downloaded a couple of themes that use a similar method, and so far KOH's bundleID is the most sensible. I think I'll change mine anyway, as this is the second time I've seen that bundle ID used. Thank you.
