no that won't help
try hard rebooting and hold the volume up button longer to see if it will go into safe boot
Edit: takes roughly 20 seconds to get into safe boot

Yes, you need to get it to boot first then uninstall, then reinstall.
04-01-2013, 10:27 PM #1403
i cant get it to boot past apple logo, i already tried holding down the volume up, i held it so long the iphone did a soft reboot with a darker background with apple logo still on it
i can never get past the apple logo but i can get it into dfu mode and itunes restore mode and out
and itunes can fully see it
i held volume up for over 1 minute with no luck

i do appreciate the help,
but i didnt do anything else, i just looked at the recent tweaks that just came out and i didnt install any others
is there a way to use ifunbox or cyberduck to do a terminal code to uninstall mobile substrate?
could i delete the springboard.plist file that holds all of the apps and stuff and then reboot so the iphone remakes it?
is there a way to manually make the iphone enter safe mode through deleting a file via ssh, but of course back it up first
i am seriously stuck

i need the terminal code to manually remove mobile substrate or all of the locations that it presides on the iPhone 4s in 6.1.2
i tried running the command apt-get update. then the command apt-get --purge remove identifier (where identifier is the field you copied in the previous step, i.e. net.limneos.sbrotator) and hit enter
respring afterwards but its still stuck

You updated your Cydia packages list it seems.
What is do is I'd navigate to /Library/ and I'd delete the MobileSubstrate directory.
Then do the killall command.
Or if there's no means to externally have your 4s reboot or respring, unplug it and let it full discharge.
Then it'll boot up just fine when plugged back.
It takes time, but it's the best you can do I think.
Isn't that watchdog thing one that can save your @ss jut now ?

what watchdog thing?
dangit i just ran the charge all night, so whats the fastest way to kill it?
okay deleted the folder but first backed it up to my laptop
killall SpringBoard doesnt do anything, it does run but it doesnt kick it out
ssh [email protected]
^would this help kill the battery faster?^
mod note: please dont move this issue to a new thread yet as multiple users check this daily, id be fine if you move it after the issue has resolved itself, thankyou
is there a terminal code that will tell me how much battery it has left?
if i ever do get it back is it wise to do this How To: Remove Unnecessary Files To Gain 1GB Storage Space, Increase Battery Life On iPhone, iPod To | Se7enSins Gaming Community
would taking the iphone apart and removing the battery then trying to power it to kill all the power to the board, then putting it all back together possibly work for a fast kill?

Youre trying to remove mobile substrate? Someone recently said they had a similar problem, and removed it, and then re-installed. Have you tried from root:
dpkg -r mobilesubstrate

EDIT:maybe the spingboard needs to be reset, i just remembered it crashed to where i couldnt see any downloaded items then it came back up then 5 min later all this happened
but maybe a reset on it will fix me out of this since itunes can still see it what is the ssh location
i already removed it from library but since u said that i reinstalled it via deb and got this message:
MacBook-Air:~ root# dpkg -r mobilesubstrate

Either doing it that way or manually theming will still require the user to move files around tho.
