    @NewdestinyX take a look in:

    private/var/mobile/Applications

withe iFile and use the 'Application Names' setting in iFile settings so you can see app names not the random alphanumeric code, I suspect you will find some Apps in there called Weather.app and WebViewService.app

I believe you can delete these safely, but just in case, have the 'Use Trash' setting on in iFile settings, if it does cause an issue just put them back:

    private/var/mobile/Library/iFile/Trash

see if that solves your issue

Thanks, dsg.. But won't removing weather.app all together be a pretty drastic step?

no because the real Weather.app is still in:

    private/var/stash/Applications.XXXXXX

X equals the random alphanumeric code

    as is the WebViewService.app

Edit: also I recomended just moving it to the trash so you could put it back if there was an issue. have a little faith

    Good point!

Just try renaming the folders and see what you get!

Guys.. I'm game.. okay.. so I found the two Applications folders.. Never knew they existed.. So what do I do - after I rename the Weather.app and WebServices.app in the private/var/mobile/Applications folder? Do I respring? Reboot? Or just go drive around and see if it's working?

I won't get a chance to test it until tomorrow morning's travels.. But out of curiosity, dsg, what's making you think that the 'clone' of Weather.app and WebServices.app in the private folder could be my issue? I'm learning a lot these days about Javascript coding but the deeper structures of iOS are a mystery to me.. What could have gotten 'out of alignment' in my two Application folders?

they didn't show up in my folder until I installed Widget Weather(since removed) but i deleted them from my folder and now I have a new folder in that location that is related to the Weather(which is interesting)

so anyway, it's just a trial and error idea that I had and if it works your issue is solved, if it doesn't nothings lost

Edit: it seems like iOS is using:

    private/var/mobile/Applications

as a cache of some sort for those apps

Sorry, dsg. That was not the "smoking gun" for my situation. As per usual lately - first city changed pretty quickly.. then thereafter no city switch without a respring. . Someone on MMI has an iP5 GSM 16GB for $400 they're willing to sell me that's 6.1 jailbroken. I'm gonna buy it. Then factory restore mine and sell it on eBay for about the same. I'll break even and have this frustrating problem behind me.

Thanks for everyone's help!! You guys have great minds!!

theres a program out that will set you back to factory settings as if you just installed the iOS version that you are on that would probably fix your issue if its a hack causing the issue semi-restore

Semi-Restore now available for Mac and PC

you might have to download it from another site but thats one of the info pages on it that i just found in a google search

tell us how that works for yah

Already used iLex RAT which does the same thing as SemiRestore. Except none of them truly erase all the deep stuff. SemiRestore is no longer available for the MAC. Too unstable. And I have no access to a PC.

But thank you anyway for trying.

Edit 2: have you tried iCleaner, it will probably not work, but no harm in trying

I've been using ICleaner for quite some time now. So that's not the answer either. But hey, you know what's funny? It's actually been behaving rather nicely all day since that one stick this morning. It's kind of like the dog that you know you have to "put down" because he's at the end of his life suddenly perking up because he knows it's the day the nasty deed is going to be done. Lol!! In this case me selling my iPhone.

So your fix about the Applications folder might have been darn close, dsg. But it would only be a fix for "my phone". Because scores of other users of WW out there have that extra folder (that I trashed) in their phones as well and yet WidgetWeather is working perfectly for them. So there's still something wrong with my phone obviously. So I have a 6.1 jailbroken phone coming to me tomorrow from another person here at MMI.

I remember that 6.1.2 fixed an Exchange mail problem that I remember needing for my work. Does anybody remember the specific problem 6.1.2 fixed? And 6.1.1?

I believe that the 6.1.2 fix for exchange had to do with calendars. I can't remember what 6.1.1 did. I'm sure a quick google search will give you the details.

Uggh.. I hope my calendars will be okay on 6.1.. I remember being really relieved when 6.1.2 came out fixing that issue.. Well... Changing cities in weather widgets? Or accurate work calendars??? LOL!!! That's actually a toughie for me in the purgatory I've been in with this phone.. LOL!!!!!!

HA!! You know, dsg... It's the damnedest thing.. but WW has behaved ALL day with no sticking except for early this am. I don't know what would have been different in my trip to breakfast.. AND it's just as possible that I got impatient and hit the respring right before it would have changed on its own.. That's always possible. But I've purposed to just LEAVE it alone today and not look down at it every 30 seconds.. And I glance at it maybe 2-3 time through 3 cities.. and it changed, sorta late, each time.. BUT it changed.. And it didn't get stuck. SOO -- for MY phone.. your little fix seems to have done the trick..

But the Widget Weather I remember that excited me the first day I loaded it on my phone - was a tweak that that when I walked from my front yard to my back yard (over a township boundary in my area) City2 would change within seconds. THAT'S the only Widget Weather I'm interested in. Once you GIVE me something - you CAN'T take it away from me. As I was driving up the Jersey Turnpike toward New York within 30 seconds of passing one of those "Entering Township of XXXXXX" -- Widget Weather's City2 would switch to that exact name.. So I have to get back to THOSE days.. Now back in those days - WW WOULD eventually get stuck.. But SDDev cleaned up the sticking by 1.4-9 - and right about my update to 1.4-9 is when I did something bad to my phone.

My seller for a 16GB iPhone 5 on 6.1 for $400 just fell thru.. But there's another one out there.. I just need to find one. I'll be able to sell this one for about the same..

But thanks, dsg, for at least finding a workaround for my WW problems. AT LEAST my WW is EVENTUALLY showing me all my destinations I travel. And in the end - that's what it was designed to do. You da man!

dsg is very good at what he does! Good guy too! Very grateful for his contributions to the 6X thread (along with the usual suspects) & dsg has been personally helping me with my WIP theme.

    FYI
Met dsg on MacThemes but I could never get on there. He had an amazing 5X theme thread. I considered it the bible to modding! That was the idea behind the 6X thread here in terms of the usefulness!

Now we have all these ppl helping out here! Been good getting to know u all!

Thanks for welcoming me, Jato - especially since my issue wasn't exactly a manual theming topic. . I've been reading this thread for a long time and am impressed with the minds that help here - even though I'm happy with Winterboard and am not all that interested in manual theming. So thanks for letting me hijack the thread for a page or so for this technical issue.
