Yip & Dave went into it as well about the NDA etc too. There is a glimmer of hope as he says in the GitHub post.

Although on the flip side, it looks like Apple is toying with the idea of allowing some user theming. With some of the new features of iOS 7, it looks like Apple has made significant strides in making iOS a lot more individualized. Believe me, we are far from not needing a jailbreak, but it appears that the newest version of iOS is going in a much different direction than previous versions. At least as far as theming is concerned and with respect to some of the "tweaks" that have been added into iOS 7.

    Just my $.02!

Can someone explain to me what the "Folders" folder under the bundles folder is for?

Some theme creators choose to theme Apps via their actual name.

e.g MobileSMS.app appears as this inside the Applications folder.

So the folder MobileSMS.app is created in YourTheme/Folders/MobileSMS.app & all pngs inside that app go in there.

If you themed this via the Bundles method the folder would be named as "com.apple.MobileSMS"

    So YourTheme/Bundles/com.apple.MobileSMS

And ur pngs/string files would go in there.

Bundles method is more consistent I've found with how apple do things.

Both the Bundles & Folders method produce the same result but I've read the Bundles method is more inline with how Apple & the iOS operate.

Each to their own & just whatever works for you really.

Hope that explains it a bit...

also the Bundles method uses less resources than the folders method

You sure about that, Dsg? My personal testing hasn't proven that out.. How did you test it?

Here to help if I can. If I can't I know someone who can!

I haven't tested it but I've seen people testify about changing from folders to Bundles and having faster response times, they were older iDevices, 3G and 3Gs, so it could be negligible for the newer iDevices

please use small case for dsg, thanks, I don't like being shouted at

Edit: I prefer Bundles because my themes are tidier, not that I can theme at the moment

Edit 2:Folders: This is only a winterboard feature. So of course using it will cause the phone to use more ram to use the theme.

where the Bundles method is native to iOS and Winterboard injects the code so iOS thinks it's reading the original, so on the whole better performance, I could be wrong

Thanks for your info. I was unaware that Folders was a WB thing. Good logic! But on my ip5.. I experience no diff using bundles or folders and when checking RAM - no difference.

And I like to capitalize the 'first' letter of a name, as is the practice in all cultures. I capitalized all 3.. My mistake.. But the perception of 'shouting' is just a perception. Most people use all caps just as emphasis since it requires lots more keystrokes to add 'bold' or underline. I assure you I wasn't shouting. . I've edited my orig post.. And will respect your wishes and use "dsg" in future. Peace!

Nice work! Just keep at it! There's a lot resource on this MMi forum & a lot of good contributors e.g dsg, KoH, Alfroggy to name a few.

Themeing is just the tip of the iceberg or just the entrance to how deep the rabbit hole really goes. (Analogy from The Matrix)

Tweak development is another field I'd recommend followed by security researching.

But the deeper you go the more difficult it gets. So just find your feet & go from there. Anything 6X related just ask in here. There's a good crew in here and it's a positive good vibe in here too.

Anyone tried & successfully themed the white cell borders in the settings menu? Not the pinstripe BG but the bordering image (thin line) around the white cells.

    ImageUploadedByModMyi1371946904.934978.jpg

I've been looking at this & I've found specific references within the iOS. Just trying to establish where the reference is pointing to. I am hoping but it seems like it could be contained within the [email protected]k file by the digging I've done. Yet to test...

@dsg: u said u had a RED UI test theme. Was every png red within that or just some? I have narrowed it down to a set of pngs...

    yes, there all red

you can test with Winterboard to see if I missed any, but there the full extract done by dave pecks tool

Edit: I always thought the white cells were code as I never found an image for them

Ok good to know that's man. Hmm I'm not convinced I could be wrong tho. I've found specific referencing to them & the switches that go in the cells that are themeable. They aren't named the same as found within the [email protected]k but at the end of the day we can theme them.

The switches are named from a coding sense "PSSwitchCell" which must pull all the elements together to show the switch we use to toggle things on/off.

The white cell that is displayed is called "PSGroupCell" and I looked at the "Settings.plist" in the Preferences.app referencing the iconCache.a/w file and it says

Edit: Added S/S from iFile ImageUploadedByModMyi1371953325.935907.jpg

    Hi guys,

I have been searching the internet as well as this site for an answer, but have nothing yet.

Has anyone found a way to change the color of the fonts on the phone? Not the icon labels, clock, etc found in winterboard themes. I mean the system font, notes font, calculator font, phone dialer font, etc..

I know bytafont can replace these fonts, but I can't get into the programs build info to see the steps taken to do this. Maybe if we can see what steps are taken to replace the fonts, we can find the files that render certain colors to certain fonts??

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  35. #2100
it's not possible, A mobile substrate tweak could do it in theory
