sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I've changed my carrier logo before and can't remember how i did it, although i remember i could only change what it said, not the font or anything. I'm looking to put in my own name but change the font, color and size. Is this purely a custom programming thing or is there a cydia app that can do this.
thanks for your help.Formerly jpcamaro70

I think Springtomize 2 can do it but you can manually do it as well if you aren't or don't want to run S2. I found I had issues so I uninstalled S2.
You need to navigate to:
/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone/**Your Carrier**
For example on my phone Vodafone NZ is my carrier so I went to:
In that folder contains the status bar images and "carrier.plist" where you can mod things. As ALWAYS if you are going to start modding things create a back up of the folder or files!
The carrier plist is the main file you want to back up or create a copy in my opinion. If you have iFile installed you can definitely have a good look around in there.
Open up the Carrier plist with iFile and scroll down to "StatusBarImages" and select it. This will send you to two fields 0: or 1: now for me 0: was field I needed to mod to change the carrier name see attached to my MMi name and also shows the pngs used as well.
I changed field 5 "StatusBarCarrierName" to Jato_BZ resprung and it now appears in the status bar.
I believe you could use Bytafont to perhaps change the font?
Another method you could try and if you are running WinterBoard is to "space" out the StatusBarCarrierName I put like 7 spaces in there and respring and nothing appears in the StatusBar where the carrier would normally.
If you are using Winterboard you could create a custom full width status bar with your name already on it however you like in the area where the carrier name would normally be displayed. Those status bar images are BlackBase, Silver Base and Translucent Base usually 10px x 40px high but you would just make them 640px wide and 40px high.
See how you go...Twitter ID: @Jato_BZ

Thanks for the detailed instructions. A little too involved for my level of knowledge, however, that showed me how I changed it in the first place though so thank you.
I think I'll try springtomize2Formerly jpcamaro70
