Bookmark Homescreen Icons SQUARE corners?

Hello all! First post so I'm hoping this is in the correct forum!

I've searched and havent seen any answers to what I'm asking, but when it comes to bookmark icons on the home screen I know that the corners are automatically rounded (that was easy!..but..) but I'm wondering if it's at all possible to have it so the icons save as a square image without the corners being lopped off?

And of course, I'm hoping to do this without jailbreaking..

I would say no as the png file "AppIconMask@2x~iphone.png" is used for all App Icons and is used to round the edges on the Bookmarks added to the Homescreen. What you are wanting to do is root level access and can be only obtained via Jailbreaking.

shoot, i was hoping that wouldn't be the case as i have an iphone 5
