    Well, if the only way to theme iOS 7 is with Xcode then this looks to be the end of an era for me. I have no intention of ever buying a Mac PC or signing up as a Developer.

    iOS 6 isn't the problem, really - I'm already up to date with iOS 6 theming. I can upgrade to iOS 7 on my device(s), but if I need Xcode tools then it's highly unlikely I'll be able to update my themes for 7.

    No I meant iOS6 is where some themes will remain on forever. Yuh I hear u. WB has to be able to function on it as it is. If they have gone to all this effort who knows if it will be possible. The Golden Age is over IMO. Damn Ives!

    Would anyone actually find the "opaque" files gray scaling issue FIX a benefit? Am considering a fork of Dave Peck's work to continue the fix for the gray scaling issue applied to "opaque" files.
    I for one find it annoying that all opaque files are automatically gray scaled as per the iOS by his artwork tool. Dave had been looking at offering support to "break the rules" for this but as per the post yesterday has dropped all support.

    The UIBars look horrible in iFile & Cydia for one & wherever any opaque files are called on by the iOS.

    Purely WIP & no guarantees (generic developer lingo)

    Yep that greyscaling is really annoying in these apps.

    Let's hope it is less annoying updating the tool than suffering the greyscaling.
    The theme in my posts is 3 4 All, by Sk37cH.

    The numerous versions released, and infinite versatility, beats IconOmatic mods. By quality.

    Hmm I'm not so sure on that. A Dev I work with here in town who is Python/Ruby/SentOS & iT compliant is already looking at it. If we are successful it will be Forked on GitHub accordingly. He's on Github as well. Jeez who isn't! Lol

    Just had a really positive email from Dave Peck. While he has advised that iOS7 won't be supported with the current artwork extracting tool, he does mention there are other ways that it could be possible. He is even talking iOS8/9 so that's a bonus he's just said to make his existing artwork tool compatible will take months so its a case of starting over from what I can read into it.

    Also progress with the Grayscale fix? Still in motion with the Fork rework. Mentioned it to Dave as he said he had made some progress before dropping support. Would be great if he supplied that code as a starting point. Won't hold my breath. Also would like to add the much needed "iconCache.a/w" to the artwork extract tool. Maybe look at iOS 5 support & below for the grayscale fix. It uses diff scripts than iOS6 hence the modern_artwork_file.py etc added from iOS6.

    Another update: Dave pointing to his grayscale fix & potentially offering support if required.

    So folks,

    time to say good bye..

    I'm fed up with the upcomming ios 7 and apple and i will change from
    my iphone to the awesome htc one. Also i am fed up with all the buggy
    tweaks like bitesms, qr4whatsapp, qr4viber and the list goes on and on.
    Naaa that's no fun anymore. For me iphone was the best but the
    competitive comes with much more better high end phones. Htc one,
    GS4 these are way much better. Anyway thanks a lot for helping me
    all the time goes to my new zealand mate Jato. Thx and all the best
    to you! :-)

    Update: iOS7 .car files etc can all be extracted via Xcode5 & the iOS7SDK as Dave Peck pointed out earlier.

    Get the required Xcode project files here via @0xced

    No worries bud. A lot easier than Dave Pecks a/w tool but doesn't recompile. Dave is looking into this but no ETA.

    U must be on 10.8 OSX (Mountain Lion)
    Be running Xcode5 & iOS7SDK + @0xced's Xcode project files.

    Build the project, run it up in iOS Simulator & then u can save it to a Folder on Desktop & view!

    At least it gives us an idea on the files (png) & what to possibly expect. The later beta's should start to see the iOS6 files (aptly named "Legacy") removed soon. They are currently doubled up.

    Update: Grayscale fix Dave Peck's artwork tool

    As adviser earlier I had asked Dave Peck to address the Grayscaling applied to the Opaque files or what the iOS would expect to be black/white only.

    Dave's artwork tool destructively applied grayscaling from a compliance point of view BUT looks horrible if you have a colour type theme (which I do) Mainly visible in Cydia & iFile but not limited to those apps.

    Dave decided to no longer provide any support for the artwork tool following iOS7's departure away from .artwork type files. Not one to be beaten or submit in defeat I approached a friend of mine who said he was up for the challenge but had no previous iOS experience at all.

    Well today, I can gladly announce that within the short amount of time (less than two weeks) he has done what Dave thought was impossible.

    I am very proud that my Dev friend managed to rectify this issue. He is working on the fine tuning (scripts) etc & hopefully it will be forked officially on Dave Peck's GitHub.

    Big thanks to King for testing the artwork files. And so far there has been no issues.

    Status Update: Ok guys I have been running the NON Grayscaled [email protected]k file for about 12hrs with no issues on both the i5 & iPad3!

    Still hard resetting & respringing with no problems & Cydia & iFile are themeing in colour with no issues.AND they look Awesum in colour!!!!

    Here is a snapshot of iFile themed.

    I had a chance last night to actually use the additional .py script that was put together by my Dev mate. It runs very similar to Dave Peck's iOS-artwork.py script but does a check png by png & ensures the RGBA component is added. It's rather genius IMO.

    The grayscale script is named iOS-inc-greyscale.py

    Basically you type less the quotations
    "iOS-inc-greyscale.py Path/to/artworkfile only Path/to/color pngs"

    None of the export -a / create -c / -d flags Dave had!

    Once he has it at a user friendly level he wants it distributed accordingly.

    Bear in mind this is rather experimental so use at YOUR OWN RISK!! If you don't require the "opaque" files in colour just use Dave's original iOS-artwork.py script.

    Also you can use Dave Peck's iOS-artwork.py to extract the hybrid (I guess) .artwork file no issues at all & you will see those Opaque files are still in colour which was the whole point.

    Yes the [email protected]k is now a bigger file as its impossible to add the extra RGBA data without increasing the file size but the iOS seems handle it fine so far.

    Heck WinterBoard gets away with what it does so a bigger file I think it's 0.3 of a megabyte bigger shouldn't cause any issues.

    Also there is a real chance this will allow UIButtonBar pngs to be added in colour instead of white & also the UIActivityShine image used in the UIActivity menu to embrace colour. I haven't tested these yet, but my Dev friend seems to think yes at this stage. Just baby steps ok guys!
