Question iPhone 4S 5.0.1 3G Icon Fails To Change Through Winterboard...
Hello My Fellow Modding Gurus ,
I'm trying to change the icon I have in my theme, or rather, on the Springboard through Winterboard. When I enable it, move it to the top and respiring when I'm on 3G I still see the 3G icon instead of my custom icon. This happens whether I use the custom 3G icon that I created, or when I use a 3G theme I download off of Cydia. The two images in use are FSO_UMTS_ON.png and DEFAULT_UMTS_ON.png but neither is kicking in. Any idea why this is happening? I'm running an iPhone 4S on 5.0.1 jailbroken with, of course, Absinthe.

    Thanks Much,
    C. Negatory

Followed your instructions step by step. I had downloaded fireball 3G form Cydia and modified it to no avail. So, I deleted everything in the folder, created a folder named "Folders" and another within that named "UIKit.framework" and made both files all caps and @2x.png and moved them in there. Still no luck on the respring. Can you send me a copy of a working 3G icon so I can just switch the image files out?

    Thanks Again,
    C. Negatory

Sorry, I think they've changed! Let me find the proper names...

These are the colored ones that show with the silver bar, like in Safari:

    ColorOnGrayShadow_DataTypeUMTS@2x
    ColorOnGrayShadow_UMTS_ON@2x

    ColorOnGrayShadow_DataTypeEDGE@2x
    ColorOnGrayShadow_EDGE_ON@2x

These are the white ones that show on the homescreen/ springboard:

    WhiteOnBlackEtch_DataTypeUMTS@2x
    WhiteOnBlackEtch_UMTS_ON@2x

    WhiteOnBlackShadow_DataTypeEDGE@2x
    WhiteOnBlackShadow_EDGE_WhiteOnBlackEtchON@2x

I CANNOT thank you ENOUGH! I've been searching the web for nearly three hours and you've had the answer all along. I can't thank you enough! What should my image dimensions and pixels be in Photoshop before I add the @2x? I've got a tad bit of distortion and it doesn't appear on the lock screen, I'm assuming because it's too big to fit the logo and the actual lock icon side by side. While I've got you here, may I ask the dimensions and the file to replace to change the slider?

If you look in that folder I linked to (iOS 5 Shared -Mediafire) you'll find all the file names and correct file sizes for the Retina Display. These are only UI elements for menus, buttons, and springboard elements.

The sliders go in /(your theme)/Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI and are named:

    bottombarknobgreen@2x
    bottombarknobred@2x
    bottombarknobgray@2x

    The main slider is 'gray'
'Green' is probably to answer a call
And 'red' is the 'slide to power off' slider.

    They're all 142x94 pixels.

Also, disregard the /email tag on one of the file names I posted - MMi places them automatically and it's annoying

Hey Guys, how is the folder structure in iOS 6.1.2?
I think the filenames are the same as in iOS 5
and how is the size of the pngs for the iPhone 5?

    Many thanks in advance
