Hi,
Can someone tell me different steps required to install custom carrier logos to my iPhone 3GS? My iPhone was originally under O2 carrier in UK which I later officially unlocked. I am using it with one of the Nepal's carrier service, NTC. When I browse system files of my iPhone using iFunBox I can see three .Png files with Vodafone written on it. But my iphone shows Nepal Mobile as my carrier.
I am all new to this so could anyone suggest me what I should do?
Thanks,
Cydiafever
After going through some threads and forums, I found out some important stuffs. The file structure of iOS 5 is quite different than previous version of iOSs. The carrier bundles file in System/Library/Carrier Bundles/iPhone is the main directory where all the carrier bundles are centrally located. If the phone carrier doesn't match with the list of carriers pre-built in the iPhone, it uses files from unknown.bundle inside this directory. So we need to replace the .png files from this (unknown.bundle) directory using some SSH (ifile, ifunbox, etc.).
I also came to know that we must first patch the commcenter as it directs which bundle to use. So, I found out an updated CommCenterClassic Patch for iOS 5.0.1 from v.backspace.jp repo (you can add this in cydia and install it). Only then can we edit carrier.plist files.
I also want to register my carrier with the iphone so that I can automatically add APN, MMS APN, and other services to my sim. And, since my carrier (from Nepal) is not registered with apple there is one way to add the carrier bundle to the phone but the service is available to iOSs before 4.2.1 only. This one way is to create a carrier bundle file (.ipcc) and update it to iphone using iTunes update. I couldn't find anything for 5.0.1.
I am still all mixed up but I'll keep trying!!
Thanks,

Just download fake carrier. U can have your carrier say anything u want with Text and emoji.

Thanks, Krisyouk. However, it only change the text without color (MakeItMine can do that too). I want to use my own logo not only text.

Why don't u just replace the Nepal mobile logo with which ever one u want to use?

I got my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 custom carrier logos working:
Also came to the conclusions that you had about the default carrier folder. This is my theme layout:
Folder name (Custom Carrier.theme)
-- Bundles
-- com.apple.ATT_US (you would change the ATT_US to match your own carrier)
Then within the com.apple folder, I have these 3 png files:
- Default_CARRIER_ATT.png
- FSO_CARRIER_ATT.png
- TS_CARRIER_ATT.png
You would also change the ATT part to your carrier. I also have cleanstatus from cydia which I used to make a fake blank carrier name (using a space). Then applied in winterboard and respringed a coupled times. Hope that helps!

So this means the only way to do it is using winterboard? But i'm looking for other options as when I installed winterboard in my iphone the phone crashed many times. Hope this is not the same with yours. BTW could you also tell us how to install it in 3GS?
Thanks,

What about for Sprint? Please PM if you can help me here, as there are no .pngs listed under my carrier bundle in sprint. Just plists.......

Verizon is the same, but it requires that you put in a code in your Carrier Bundles first. Also, instead of ATT, it is Zeppelin.

Ok problem solved!!

Here are the steps...
1) Download a program called "Zeppelin" from here and install it using cydia, iFile or iFunbox.
2) Make sure you have given file permission...
Just go to terminal (you can use iFunbox's "SSH terminal" but for this first you need to install "OpenSSH" from Cydia repo) and type in the following:3) "Exit" from the terminalCode:chmod -R 755 /Library/Zeppelin chown -R mobile:staff /Library/Zeppelin
4) Uninstall "Fake Operator" or "Fake Carrier" if you have these already installed.
5) Goto Settings>Zeppelin> and choose any logo you want OR you may add your own logo using iFile or iFunbox
To install your own logos
1. On your local machine create a folder titled for your theme name.
2. Put images in it titled as follows: silver.png for the silver bar, black.png for the black bar, and etched.png for notification center. Make sure to add @2x to the file name if it is a retina icon.
3. Copy this folder from your computer to /Library/Zeppelin
4. Open Settings->Zeppelin and it should appear in the list
5. Enjoy!!
