changing keyboard on iphone 3g

Hello..this is my first post. I have an iphone 3g 4.2.1 and whenever I try to install a keyboard theme, after I check it off on winterboard and respring it simply doesn't work. Anyone know what's wrong? all i want is a black keyboard to match my theme.

That theme for ya keyboard may not be compatible with your software. Make sure ya gittin the right one.

that may be, but i tried many many different ones on cydia and also tried color keyboard, nothing will work

Color keyboard seemed to work well with my 3GS what ya trying to git? And ya sure ya doing it right?

yeah i'm positive. the ones i tried were called Black Keyboard and Gloss Black

When have ya keyboard come up when ya type Sonya have a little globe next to the space bar?

Sorry i did type the weird. Sorry for that tired been a long day. What I was trying to say is when ya type like a message or anything and ya keyboard comes up. Do you have a globe or an icon next to ya spacebar?

no..the only thing next to the spacebar is return

You have the updated version of color keyboard? It may not work with a 3G I would check for ya but haven't jailbroke this phone yet. And nothing to the left of the keyboard either. If I rember right mine would only work when I hit that globe icon in my keyboard left of the spacebar.

Well i uninstalled color keyboard after i didnt see a change, but ill reinstall it and see if i get that globe

Well thats odd..i reinstalled and no globe but it works now. Thank you for replying
