Multitasking bar problem
Please could someone help me. I have this background icon image behind my ipod app icon in the multitask bar. Every time I apply a new theme in Winterboard this happens. Any ideas?

I've searched the forums but cannot find an answer to this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Exactly what is it that's going wrong here? There's something behind the icon on the far right - is that a part of your switcher background? What does that graphic go to?

Thats exactly whats wrong. Everytime I change the theme there is that image behind the far right icon. I cant get rid of it. Its not part of the themes im applying.

Ah, I think I know.
To solve the problem simply navigate to: /private/var/mobile/Libary/Caches/ and delete the com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen file.
Be sure to use FolderSwitcher.png (not the @2x version!).

Here's another example
I have
com.apple.Springboard.folderSwitcherLinen.0
com.apple.Springboard.folderSwitcherLinen.1
com.apple.Springboard.folderSwitcherLinen.2
com.apple.Springboard.folderSwitcherLinen.3
Do I delete all and what do you mean by use Folderswitcher.png? Thanks for your help.Last edited by selfhealer; 07-16-2011 at 01:16 PM.

This sounds stupid but where is this Folderswitcher.png? I can't locate the file.

Give me a moment, I've wanted to figure this out for a while - may as well be now! I know what files, I just have to find the exact ones, then I'll give you better instructions...

===========================================
OK, I figured it out.
The files are located in ///yourtheme/Bundles/com.apple.springboard and are named:
You'll want to take note that the image that appears in your task switcher is the TOP part of the image. It ends exactly 276 pixels from the top of the image. The area shone here in black:PHP Code:FolderSwitcherBG.png
FolderSwitcherBG@2x.png
FolderSwitcherBG~iphone@2x.png

Unfortunately this same image is shared with the background of the folders, in which the full image is shown, so take that into account. To "fix" this I use FolderEnhance on Cydia to make the folder backgrounds the same as the springboard background (Settings->FolderEnhancer->Appearance->Use Image File [OFF]).
Once you've placed your images in com.apple.springboard, go into your Caches folder (//var/mobile/Library/Caches) and delete all files named com.apple.Springboard.FolderSwitcherLinen. There's anywhere between 1 and 5 of them depending on your iOS version.
Reboot for the changes to take effect!

I have folder enhancer and this does not effect the multitask bar image that I have behind the ipod icon. The 3 file names that you have indicated are in my theme bundles folder. So what do I need to do exactly? I am using folder enhancer with use image file off and I have deleted my cache files. Still no effect.

FolderEnhancer is just for the folder background image. FolderSwitcherBG affects BOTH the folder backgrounds and the switcher background.
Be sure you reboot your device (NOT a respring!).

Sorry, this hasn't worked. I'm at a loss. The image behind the ipod icon is the same shape and style, no matter what theme I apply. Surely this can't be the folder background image as this changes for every theme.

Can you do me a favor and post all your FolderSwitcherBG images here?
Actually, nevermind, that's probably not the problem.
If I were you I'd uninstall any switcher mods you have installed, delete everything in the Caches folder (do NOT delete the Caches folder itself, only the files inside).
Then reboot - not respring, reboot.Last edited by Jahooba; 07-16-2011 at 04:46 PM.

That's why I think it has something to do with a Cydia mod you installed.
