Unfortunately we're SOL on the LCD. The LCD image is inside that MobilePhonePackedImages.artwork file and must be extracted with iPhoneShop and then recompressed into the .artwork file. At present, there is no way to change the size of images inside .artwork, so we're stuck with the dimensions Apple offers in that file (it is called MobilePhonePackedImages-29.png and measures 8x128 pixel in case you're interested). The 8 pixels are expanded to the full width of the LCD (320), so nothing can be done about that.
