appiconmask
this is causing a black shadow on appstore icons for my theme. the only way of getting rid of it is deleting it but i want to find a better way for the next updated version of my theme!
and since all my icons are different shapes making a fixed appiconmask is not going to work.
also i tried making it transparent, that made the icons transparent.
tried making a white square, that just made the shadow a black square. any help?

EDIT:
figured it out in your theme create a Icons folder
in that folder place 2 copies of the icon, one named Facebook.png and [email protected]
repeat for all appstore icons and delete the bundle folders for these.
no black shadow! summerboard mode must be on.Last edited by thunderwolf333; 02-02-2011 at 01:58 PM.

when you use the method described in this thread the icons in the icons folder are at a lower resoultion. on the iphone this is probably less noticble but on the new ipad this was a problem. here's another solution in order to have the proper resolution of icons that i used on my ipad 3.
Issue : Black background behind png modified icons on third party apps (pics)
be aware though this method will create square 3rd party icons unless you theme them all.

The shadow is actually an image that is located in System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app
WallpaperIconShadow@2x~iphone.png
Rename it or delete it or replace it with a transparent image and you will have no black shadow behind icons.
