home screen bg

is there a bg png for the home screen? or if not. how large is the png that goes on the bottom that has the 4 main applications in it? maybe thats a full size png is just has a black area in the upper 80% of it?
i want to skin my iphone but i want to put a bg in the homescreen if not i dont think its worth the trouble to do it right now.

Controlled by Background.png, BacksideBackground.png, and backgroundGradient.png. Dock is controlled by SBDockBG2.png.

where would i find those files within the iPhone file system?? id like to mod them as well but i can't find them

http://www.modmyi.com/wiki/index.php...directory_list is the list. After looking at it, I'm not sure if I'm right on those first two background images... The dock is found in System/SpringBoard.app/ (your home screen app).

Nice! I fixed your post, you know you can press that movie icon in the editor and paste a YouTube or Google Video URL and show your vids inline in posts? Fun.

i dont think any you listed would be the main home screens bg. thoe files look to be the ipod, weather, and something elses bg's.

i have a question.. i can do ringtins fine but i was trying to change the loading bar and bg in safari and it doesnt seem to work. and i wanna know if its a problem on my end.

on that site after step 13, when its in recovery mode.. is it suppose to stay in recovery mode while you are transfering files into the phone? like does that yellow triangle and connect to itunes stay on the screen? cause mine has the loading circle and then it actually boots back into the phone after, so im thinking thats why the files im transfering arnt working.

no it is not supposed to stay in recovery mode, it is supposed to reboot.

well i replaced Default.png in mobilesafari.app and also URLProgress.png and i dont see any changes?. maybe someone else can try to swap thiers out and see if they change. i was trying to skin safari with a red theme but i am getting shut down pretty early in the game haha..

everything seemed to transfer correctly. but i dont see the changes.. maybe i need to try and replace the home icons first and see if i can do that, at least ill know if the transfers are working

ok i was coping them to the wrong place.. so i got it working and got 4 dock icons made so far with my black /red /white theme. and safari default.png replaced but thats only the bg fr a split second when you open safari for the first time. i need to figure out the top and bottom gradient files to skin. then i should be pretty much set. then also the home screen bg.
im working at a complete red theme skin
