    You can use gimp, paint.net which are free, or use Photoshop I think there is a free trail.

    gimp is a good free app. but i personally find photoshop better. but thats just me. and if you look in the right places, you might be able to get photoshop for free ;-)

    have a look at this thread GUIDE theming in 4.X there is a lot of info in there and it should help you a lot.

    there are loads of other guides or posts on here, explaining how to do everything. it's just the case of being patient and using the search box to find all the info.

    I use GIMP, Photoshop, and http//www.pixlr.com/editor/
    It's like an in-browser editor. Light and easy.
