Theme changes required to bring your 4.1 theme up to 4.2.1
Some of you may have already updated to 4.2.1 *as i did* and noticed that all the 4.1 themes *excluding iDivinorumHD v1.2* don't display all of the icons! The problem here is that crApple has decided to rename some icons and move some others in 4.2.1 compared to what they were in 4.1.

With that a few easy changes need to be made to make your 4.1 theme compatible with 4.2.1
Lets start when you first turn on your phone. If you have any kind of customized html based lockscreen you will notice that the image you set from your camera roll doesn't show up as the lock background anymore
crApple has done away with a usable image that can be called via html and instead renamed that file and the Homescreen background to be LockBackground.cpbitmap and HomeBackground.cpbitmap I tried just putting that filename in replace in html and it wouldn't load.
BUT...since most themes dont use the full res image for the lockscreen there is still LockBackgroundThumbnail.jpg and HomeBackgroundThumbnail.jpg that are 206x308...so they will still make for good neo Style html lock screens
Moving into the homescreen.
First thing you will notice, folders, camera, and photos icons are the defaults
Camera Icon
Camera and photos have been seperated in 4.2.1
copy our icon-camera.png to a new folder called
/bundles/com.apple.Camera
and then you will need the icons
Default.png

Icon-Camera.png becomes Icon.png
becomes
Photos Icon
The Camera was removed from the mobileslideshow but the photos remain.
in /bundles/com.apple.mobileslideshow you need to rename
Default.png to Default~iphone.png
to Default@2x~iphone.png
icon-Photos.png becomes icon.png
becomes
Folder icon, background image, task switcher icons, dock shadow, multitask shadow, and Rotation Lock
in /bundles/com.apple.springboard rename these files
FolderIconBG.png becomes FolderIconBG~iphone.png
becomes FolderIconBG@2x~iphone.png
FolderSwitcherBG.png becomes FolderSwitcherBG~iphone.png
becomes FolderSwitcherBG@2x~iphone.png
RotationLockButton.png becomes RotationLockButton~iphone.png
becomes RotationLockButton@2x~iphone.png
RotationUnlockButton.png becomes RotationUnlockButton~iphone.png
[b[ becomes RotationUnlockButton@2x~iphone.png
SwitcherIconShadow.png becomes SwitcherIconShadow~iphone.png
becomes SwitcherIconShadow@2x~iphone.png
WallpaperIconDockShadow.png becomes WallpaperIconDockShadow~iphone.png
becomes WallpaperIconDockShadow@2x~iphone.png
Maps Icon
again ~iphone has been added to the icon names
in /bundles/com.apple.Maps
icon.png becomes icon~iphone.png
becomes icon@2x~iphone.png
Contacts Icon
in /bundles/com.apple.MobileAddressBook
icon.png

In order to enabled you folder wallpaper and switcher graphics there are now 4 files that need to be deleted in /var/mobile/Library/caches
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.0
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.1
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.2
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.3
After that respring and you will see the changes
Pretty sure this is everything. Need to look around more, but it is a good start. Feel free to post any more findings and I will update the first post.
Again if you want the only full ios4.2.1 theme, go pick up iDivinorumHD from the modmyi repo in Cydia!! Lots of great changes coming for that so get it now and enjoy it forever

any idea what to name the custom dock?
or how to enable auto icons?
Thanks for the fixes listed, I seriously think Apple just changes the names to piss of jailbreakers

Thanks, I somehow got those to work on 4.1 without doing that, but not on 4.2
The dock has the reflection still and is too low, how should I fix this?
forgot to clear my icon cache
also do you know how to remove the overlay shadow while selecting an app, it's in a circle for some reason on mine.Last edited by pyrojing; 11-30-2010 at 05:15 PM.

Probably the best idea is to not update to 4.2. It just seems like a lot of trouble for a very small update. If you have your SHSH blobs saved I believe you can downgrade.

Or for the Dock you could go ghetto and apply the image to your wallpaper. Lol

Your docked icons are way to high on the screen. Maybe resize the dock to half the size?

Thanks for this post, I bookmarked it

Just wanted to make a correction: When you said to change the Default.png's, in my theme they're named as "" and "", respectively (and they are confirmed working). So the names would then be:
Default-Camera@2x~iphone.png
Default-Photos@2x~iphone.png
Correct? I have no way of testing this - I'm still on 4.1.

the camera has to move to com.apple.camera and it becomes and in the mobile slideshow copy Default-Photos@2x~iphone.png to

Ah, there's a little confusion here, sorry.
The default screens are the images that show when the app is loading, which is what I'm talking about.
What you're suggesting is that I change the springboard icons from "Default-Photos" (the loading screen) to "icon", which isn't right.
I think you mean "" gets moved/changed to .
