Slider background

I have had problems with changing the slider background on the lock screen. I stretched the middle of the image to the full width of 320 pixels, but the edges are the same. I have attached the images.

The right side of the image stretches off the screen and I cannot see the F1 grid position I have drawn. As my slider is an F1 car, it would be nice to slide it from behind a grid slot. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I have no problems with the slider, it's just the bit behind it.

For the background you must change these artworks:

bottombarbkgnd.png
bottombarbkgndlock.png
bottombarbkgndlockS.png
bottombarbkgndlockT.png

...and here are the original theme stock images

I need to change all of them? OK, but how will that help with the fact that it stretches off the screen? I got my images from the iOS4 TelephonyUI folder on my iPod.

Tried that, still stretches off the side like in the screenshot on the first post.
