In case you haven't figured it out by now, the native icons that come on the iPhone (Safari, Contacts, etc.) can't be auto-skinned. You'll need to create news ones to match your theme for each of them.

There is another thing I'd like to do beside putting wallpapers in the native wallpapers, I want my tap to animate... Not sure how to pull that off though

This seems to be brought up a lot but I have not saw it explained in detail. Sliders for iOS 4.3 I read about making a few new images, but I need more detail if someone would be kind to explain for me. I have made a tap and slider for my theme, I am not on 4.3 so this has to be perfect, I need to know exactly what each image does so that it looks the way it should I know the slider knob didn't change... HELP is needed thank you in advance!

You can use Icon Thief to get all the springboard icons from your iDevice also. It's on Cydia. LINK

hey guys, thanks for all the hard work and help!

i'm looking to theme the VMemo app... i had themed it a few OS ago, and worked great, but now would like to update it to 4.x..
the original path and .png images were: " Theme folder/Bundles/com.apple.VoiceMemos/ " and the images were " mic.png and whiteglow.png.
i've tried adding the @2x images, and even the ~iphone extensions, but to no avail...
any ideas on how to theme this now??

Thanks for the useful thread but I have this problem:

When I changed my status bar on ios 4.2.1 I had to handle the old method and locate my satus bar in UIImages>those 3file names
its a silver bar and the statusbar text is white. I want to force the iPhone to always put on the black text info in the status bar and the colored battery.

I think my iPhone still thinks that I uses a black and silver bar but I only uses 1 silver bar so how can I force my iPhone into always giving the string that its 'on a silver bar' (even if the iPhone uses the black_ .. images)

(note: I don't want to change the font color of the clock and carrier, I want to tell the iPhone it has to use the string for the 'Silver' bar)

where can i chance the email icon? which folder is it saved? or what is the correct spelling for the file that i can change it in my theme
