Where do I put icon packs?

Having completely failed with the HTC Hero theme (I know, I'm a n00b and new to this) I installed the Isatin Carbon theme.

To even my surprise, I got it to work and it looks great, only there are quite some default icons that didn't change.

I downloaded a whole big pack of icons from Zausser's website and created some icons myself in Photoshop, but now I have no idea where to put them.

I have DiskAid (which sucks BTW, so any other suggestions are very welcome) so do I just put them in the icon folder?

I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find anything global, and the Isatin thread is over 100 pages...

Can anyone help me out?

Yes, in the icon folder within the theme.

Do I put all the icons there? 'Cause there is a folder with 'normal' ones, and one with categories ones.

And is it normal to take very long? Can I just add the folder or do I have to add only the icons?
