Larger iPhone icons without Winterboard
Hi, I have a quick question.
Is it possible to have custom iphone app icons that are larger than the required 59 x 59, without using winterboard?
Everytime I try to ssh and replace a an app icon with a big icon, it resizes it to fit 59x59. Is it possible to have larger icons without using winterboard?

i dont think there is. If you want to change the theme use winterboard.(it doesnt take that much memory, maybe 10mb or less)
Replacing the default images isnt a good thing to do for app store apps. I changed an icon for an app, and when i restored it, it kept saying the app has been tampered with or something and wouldnt sync, so i had to redownload it.OpenFient/Any other gametype: JBone1337

Ok, thanks. Winterboard is not an option, as I have a touch 1g and I want it to have as much as memory as possible.

ah, but y did you jailbreak then lol? what do you actually have downloaded?
Winterboard+SBSettings is the main 2 things from jailbreaking. If you have only those things it shouldnt change much. And maybe do a restore so it gets rid of any/all crap that might have built up and slow down the device.OpenFient/Any other gametype: JBone1337

Actually, I have a Touch that is extensively theme-ed without Winterboard ( wallpaper from boss paper), modified other.artwork, proSwitcher, backgrounder, window planer and categoriesSB. You can get around most things winterboard does via manual ssh.
I ensure that my device has none extra crap that I don't need/use, so that I get max memory, battery life and speed.

Well, boss paper uses significantly less memory than winterboard. Pro switcher + backgrounder uses basically 0 memory unless activated. I can actually multi task around 4 apps efficiently (which is more than enough for 95% of people)
CategoriesSB ,again uses very little memory as it operates only when pressed. The only "always running" mobile substrate plugin is window planer and that uses minuscule memory compared to the 10mb used always by Winterboard.

ive done testing on categoriesSB, it takes 8mb of memory after installing it. and like 0.5-1mb of memory when a category when activated.
Winterboard takes no more then 10mb when fully themed out.
so categoriesSB+window planner(idk what that even is lol)+boss paper im sure takes 10+ mb. And then you dont have to edit the files, which could mess things up.
I still think it would be better to have SBSettings+Winterboard+categoriesSB(if you really need to have it)
would be a better comboOpenFient/Any other gametype: JBone1337
