Centering sms background in landscape and portrait?
I have an image in my smsbackground.png and would like it to be centered in both landscape and portrait modes. If the image is 320x480 it is centered in portrait, but has the 160 pixel gray area to the right of the image in landscape. If it is 480x480 then it is centered in landscape but the image is off center in portrait. Is it possible to get the best of both worlds or do I just have to pick my poison?
That's what I wanted to know how to do. What do you name the images and where do they go. I only have SMSBackground.png in the root of my theme folder.
I confused this with the notes bakground (which has seporate images for each mode ... that SMS apprently does not).
I actually had the same problem with my theme, and ended up sizing it to 480x480 and scaling the image so it would be MOSTLY centered both ways. The trade off in your case will be you probably need the "O" part of the image to be smaller and centered in the middle of the 480x480 image with more of the carbon fiber part aound the edges. Depending on how big you want the "O" to be ... pretty much the max it can take up is a 320x320 section centered inside the 480x480 with the remaining 160 all the way around being the cf.
Sorry for the initial missleading reply ... working on theming too many different elements and they are all starting to merge in my brain ... lol
Got my hopes up for a second. Oh well I'll just live with the 320x480 image since I usually text from the portrait mode. Thats annoying though. Maybe I'll try a tiled background. Thanks for the replies though.
Here's the tiled version. I might use this instead.
