Thread: Artwork File locations....
09-25-2007, 09:47 PM #1Artwork File locations....
So I was thinking..
There are 4831948319048-3149-0 images in the artwork files.
If anyone finds a "certain" image and what that image does on the phone. Could we start posting them here?
Lets get a log here. With Pics.. and the actual image name out of the package.
Quite obviously the keypads are self explanatory. They are all in the same location.
In the Other.Artwork file I found that Other-138.png Controls the Upper bar as pictured below. Not just the SMS. This bar is linked to multiple locations. Theres some others in the same file on the image below.
These images are twacked! They are nothing like you would imagine in translation to the phone. 138 has 2 different bars for instance when you open the png..
Thanks guys. This will save everyone mad time.
Here is an example...

Perhaps a Wiki would be helpful as well? Everyone can add?

Ya we need something that has an image.. description of file or arrow pointing to it. And the file name inside the artwork file.
Theres like 269 files in the other.artwork folder and they are TINY. Hard to find relations to the phone.

You can upload images to the Wiki and have it hosted with us by going to the "Upload" link in the Wiki Links menu.

I'll chart out the .artwork stores as I come across them this weekend and post them as I figure them out

There are a bunch in the "MobilePhonePackedImages.artwork" file from the MobilePhone.app that make sense to map out as well. I modified some of them for my retro phone dialer. (http://www.modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6360)
There aren't as many PNG's in that file and they are more obvious what they do but you need to change some of them to be able to really re-skin your dialer. For my retro dialer I changed #'s 29, 30, 31
Attached is a screenshot of thumbnails that may prove useful.
- 29 = Dialer LCD background (NOTE: the phone STRETCHES an 8 pixel wide image to the full 320 width)
- 30 = 12-button pad (Normal version)
- 31 = 12-button pad ("pressed" version)

Dimensions of the artwork might be helpful too.

Yes I know.. Apple put these hidden together images wierd. Makes it real hard to find the image and correlation between the phone.

ive had some luck replacing .png files with a white square and it helped me figure out where a few of the files were used. Make sure you back up the file you are replacing. dunno if this helps but...
