Lockscreen & Springboard Coding Question

Hey guys I'm just not recently getting into theming ipods and i was just curious as to what languages are supported by the lock-screen & springboard. Ive found that some languages like java script don't seem to work on the springboard like they do when you have them set to appear on the lock-screen. I hope that makes since and you guys understand what im trying to say...
