Changing App Icon Titles
Is it at all possible to rename the text underneath the app icons on your springboard? For example if I wanted the Calendar app to say "Cal" or whatever.

Haven't used it in a while but there was an app called Rename in Cydia that would accomplish this.

I found it under a different source, installed and renamed successfully. Thanx for pointing me in the right direction

So how does this work? Does this "Rename" app actually rename the application? How are the changes stored? Is it per theme or will they remain even after changing Winterboard themes?

It doesn't rename the app. It changes what is displayed on the springboard. It will stay that way unless you:
1. Rename it again.
2. Restore your phone.
3. Upgrade the app
The downside is the icons in the theme have to be renamed as well.
I renamed Winterboard to Themes. Now every theme I try, I have to rename the Winterboard icon to Themes or it won't get changed.
I also renamed BiteSMS to Messages. No need to rename the icon for it.If I can't mod it...I don't want it.
