Lockscreen Wallpaper

I just downloaded a theme with a nice wallpaper but for some reason it isnt showing up on the lockscreen, all I get is the standard earth wallpaper. I made sure user wallpaper and user lockscreen were unchecked in winterboard and i SSHed in trying to add the file as "lockscreen" "locksreenwallpaper" and "lockbackground" but still no luck. Any ideas? The file is a .gif and im running 3.0 so does that make a difference?

First, the image has to be in .png format, not .gif.
Then, name the image LockBackground.png. Correct spelling is important. It goes in the main theme folder.
