keyboard "skinning"

hey, first post (woot!)

im building a complete theme (and complete meaning, its gonna be big enough where a megaupload is in order) and im trying to figure out the easiest and cleanest way to make a new keyboard style, like for example (ill post a mockup in a bit) i want to make it so the letter or number is the button, and take off the square part around the letter.. hope that made sense...

are the letters individual? or should i make the keyboard as a whole?

There are 243 png's that make up both of the keyboards you have to change all of them if you want a completely new keyboard. Some are individual and some are in a complete layout.

example:

You should be able to make either the letter or number the button, just leave out the square around them.

You would need to use the iAcces work-around though since themeing through Winterboard still is not possible on 3.0

His info says he is on 2.2.1.

I noticed that but we don't really know how often he updates that. Also, without the iAcces work-around it wouldn't really be a compete theme for anyone using 3.0, which would be most iPhone users.

Found the info.

so you're saying that with iaccess the keyboard in 3.0 can be modified? Do you know where to get instructions on that? TIA

well thanks for the info and where would i find the individual icons? im not planning on updating to 3.0 just yet but ill run thru iaccess.

ill look for the keyboard icons unless a reply comes by soon

I think you would pretty much have to make your own.

what would i title the folder that they would go into then? btw... not planning on updating to 3.0 until there is a solid j/b available.. then i gotta figure out what i want to migrate over lol..
