Where can I find LOTS of icons?

I started creating some new icons for my Tron Theme (6 completed, woo!) - but I only have a small list of stock icons I downloaded from here on Modmyi. There are some files on Cydia, like Gradience, that have over 200 icons -- but I don't know how to rip them off of my iPod using SSH. Really all I need are the icon names, however the small image file along with the icon name is preferable because I can set it as a background in my 3D program and build my icons on top of it!

So, where do you guys get your icons? Is there a place where I can download hundreds at a time? Is there an easy way to rip all the icons from my iPod?

another will be downloading Stereo's Leopard theme which has over 1K icons and then you can move them into your pc using "iphone browser" (google it) no need to SSH

Hey thanks for the link. Unfortunately all those icons are unusable. Basically what they did is took the original icon, shrank it, and put it on top of an image of a leaf. :-(

I need original icons. I guess I should've been more clear on that.

Well, if you download the icon update links in my sig below, you will have a pretty large list of icons, and names to work with. You won't be able to use the icons themselves, but most of them have the original icons, and the correct names. That is about the best I can offer you.

It would be super fantastic if there was a way to see the name of the app (as it appears on the springboard) in itunes, without having to buy it. Or if there was a repository of stock icons, with the correct spelling. This would help tremendously, in making a theme, and icons for it. God luck, and please post back here if you find a good solution.

This has helped me a lot! Thank you. The non-glared ones work the best as I can kind of see the shape of the icon. I suppose I can always use these as the app names and use iTunes for the visual reference.

Guys, I need LOTS of icons. Like in a large zip file. More importantly, I need their actual names as they appear on the device.

Like what 1hihum has in his sig... except I need originals. The ones he has links to are all modified in some way.

i, too, am looking for where i can download the actual app icons for any app available in the app store. i know there must be some way to do it because people are constantly posting app icons to convert to a certain theme's style.

This is my collected icons.i converted them to 75x75.i use and try most of them on my iphone and look ok.

Thanks, Bunndoo, I'm downloading it now. So does the extra 15x15 pixels make any difference when viewed on the iPod/ iPhone screen? I know there's only a certain resolution we're dealing with, so some of the information is lost, right?

Meaning: the resolution is 320 across, so 320/60= at most 5 icons without pixel loss.

Or perhaps I'm misunderstanding?

Ouch! I just downloaded 130-something megabytes of icons from your link and only 2.34mb are actually for the iPod! You could've warned me! And even those are nearly unreadable, visually. But, at least I have a few more app names to add to my collection
