Facebook Icon & App

If anyone is interested, I made an application using natetrue's OpenURL that opens the iphone-formatted Facebook page in Safari.

The icon was made using Jotlet's psd kit using official Facebook color and logo. This was my first time using photoshop and modding for the iphone - works great for me. Hope you enjoy!

Fixed the link on my original post - I was working on a Blackboard app at the same time and got them mixed lol thanks for pointing that out

If anyone wants/needs a Blackboard icon or a University of Texas Longhorns icon I'm attaching those too

Here is the facebook icon I made. Does yours link to iphone.facebook.com? That's a version of facebook, specially formatted for the iPhone.

You need to set permissions for the file "openurl". The easiest way I've found to do this is:

download Squid from installer.app
open Squid and find "openurl" under applications > facebook.app
click info at the bottom
check "execute" where it says "read write execute"
click apply
restart iphone

I'm a little new at installing 3rd party apps so please bare with me. Can someone tell me what's the best way to install this facebook app into my iPhone....I've heard so many people say iBricker, WINCP (whatever it is) and Independence??? Unfortunately this specific app is not on installer or I else I wouldn't be asking you folks this queston.

Last question is that do I have to have any specific program installed into my iPhone prior to installing this Facebook App. I've also heard people say to have SSH installed in the iphone. I've watched the youtube video and saw how easy it is I just want to find the right way to do it. I'm running on an unlocked iphone with 1.1.1.

hey guys, i tried to do the same with newsgator, but it just doesn't show up (permissions are set to 755) when i copy it into the apps folder.

any idea why that is?

hey guys this might be a silly question, but how would i change the bookmark icons i made on my springboard for Facebook and ESPN, i spelled them the exact way there spelled... and they wont change any suggestions ??
