I think its a problem with Spring Jumps personally... anyone have this "disappearing status bar" issue and is NOT using spring jumps?
I'm not using Spring Jumps nor have I selected "Solid status bar" through Winterboard. This issue is rather annoying because I rely on the status bar for the time

Figured it out....

OK guys, for those of you with the disappearing status bar, I found the problem... there should be a info.plist file on the root folder of your theme. Open the file using notepad (Windows) and look for these commands...

<key>StatusBarMode</key><string>1</string>

<key>StatusBarContentsMode</key><string>1</string>

Delete them and your status bar will stop disappearing... for whatever reason, winterboard apparently doesn't deal with these commands well in 3.0

You may have to tweak some of your x_BG images, and perhaps some of your Default_x & FSO_x (com.apple.springboard) images to compensate.

I've installed Winterboard 3.0 (0.9.2939-1) on my iPhone 3g w/ FW 3.0. For the life of me I cant seem to get the dock to theme. It's alway present with the default Apple supplied dock image. I've tried un-instaling and deactivating things like Five Icon Dock, Five Col SpringBorad, but nothing helps. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me?

I have noticed that my dock icons all have reflections, but I dont have the Reflective Dock installed.

It definitely doesn't have anything to do with your theme. I only installed winterboard and the status bar goes away every time i close an app. I uninstalled winterboard and it went back to normal. So i just dont use winterboard anymore. quite sad

To all those who are using a theme and having issues with the status bar, it's the Info.plist. It's not the whole .plist causing a problem, just one line. Look inside the .plist see if there is a line that reads: StatusBarMode. If so, delete it. It will keep the status bar from disappearing, but your status bar images my change. You'll have to make sure that your Default and FSO images are the same to keep them from changing in and out of apps.

EDIT: Nevermind I didn't see the post above that already answered the question.

i just want to have the solid status bar on the home screen. not the lock screen or other apps.
before i could do this because there were different mode keys for each app including com.apple.springboard.app and com.summerboard.app

but now it seems the StatusModeKey is international for everything

any way to single out springboard ?
