Yeah, I want to know about the background images too. I guess the problem lies in the portrait/landscape shifting, as well as locating the actual image files!
Got the bubbles sorted though, made one of my old themes compatible, anyone who's a fan of family guy should check it out here: Apple Forums & iPhone Forums, Mods, Hacks, News, Themes, Downloads, and more! | ModMyi.com - Downloads - Family Guy SMS Balloons 3.0

I have also incurred a problem changing the buttons and enter text field. A little insight in that area might help others too.
If you look in Chatkit folder it only contains the bubbles. There has to be a different folder out there that we are all missing.

Also when you copy a bubble and it changes to blue you can add another bubble into com.apple.chatkit and rename it to "select-text-bubble"
Im taking alot more images off and converted them to readable images looking for the Wallpaper, Ill keep you updated!

i really dont know much about this stuff yet. I would guess that the issue with the sms background has something to do with the fact that it can rotate for landscape now.

it would be nice if you can designate 2 different backgrounds, one for landscape and one for portrait.
iRealSMS - your REAL native landscape SMS app on the iPhone
PwnTunes - Sync, Save, Share...
PhotoAlbums+ - Take Control of your Camera Roll
More new and exciting apps to come!

Im thinking they changed the name of it, its def been moved if anything. Im also wondering if it is even a png file any more because in the 3.0 fireware they added the feature landscape to sms so maybe its not a png file but something else or if it is there must be 2 one for landscape and one for regular.
