Status bar and texts

Hi guys, im currently mixing up a few themes that i want, and the main two im wanting to use are Android and Buuf2.

Anyway my problem, could somone let me know how to make the status bar white and so the time/carrier text etc. Is black (When i use the android one when on the home screen the status bar is white and so is the text yet when i open an app all is fine.

Also is there way to get the text of apps to have a black border round it? As you can see from the SS it's abit harder to see around the sun.
