is it possible to change the stausbar on top of your screen

is it possible to change the status bar on top of your screen? im talking about the one that has the clock and the wifi bars.

The actual bar itself....yup, its just 1 image.

And it goes inside the main theme folder in winterboard.

im looking for a black status bar for my sony xmb theme so far everything match but when i go to google i have that white status bar which kills everything. can anyone help? thanks i really hate that white bar on top of my screen.
