hey guys i've done searches and looked into this a bit now and I'm still pretty stumped. I just got around to jailbreaking my iphone 3g 2.2.1 and I'm loving these winterboard themes etc.
I've popped over to the show off your theme thread and I LOVE the themes posted there but they seem to be WAY move advanced that then of winterboard? I've looked into this "inav" software and downloaded it but all it did was make a ton of homescreens and offer me category's - which was cool - but didn't look like what I wanted.
I basically just want a super clean lock screen and desktop area for my iphone.
There is a whole section here dedicated to modding your iPhone theme right here on ModMyI. It is fairly simple actually and after you have read a few threads you will be well on your way to creating your own themes. Most people create their own themes by combining pieces of multiple themes.
I checked out the winterboard section above but I'm at work right now so I'll have to wait. Is there any way you can point me to a thread or two that revolves around modding the phone. I've downloaded some cool themes such as glassorb but I'd like to take it a step futher with what looks like widgets?
Depending on how clean you would like your lockscreen, but this is a mod that makes it look pretty sleek, its called MultiBarLockscreen, you can read this thread over at MacThemes, there are heaps of cool mods to make your l/s look mad .
If you have a look at the OSX Leopard ADD-ONS Thread, it goes for ages but you will find a lot of info regarding how you can get widgets in your theme etc, the link to this thread is as follows, http://www.modmyi.com/forums/new-ski...d-add-ons.html
ok i just deleted my last posts because I've managed to find alot of the stuff needed on my own. This ssh thing isnt so hard :P
One thing I CANT seem to find is this part
"Q: The weather is for New York, how do I put my own location in it?
A: If you use Yahoo (standard option) as WeatherSource:
- Browse to http://weather.yahoo.com/
- Type your location in it and press Go,
- Get the code you see now in the URL, it looks somewhat like "USNY0996"
- Browse to the Private/Settings.js file in your iPhone
- Search for the line starting with var WeatherLocale =
- Replace the current code "USNY0996" by yours
If you use Apple as WeatherSource:
- Search for the line starting with var WeatherLocale =
- Replace the current code "USNY0996" by your cityname
- Save the file"
where is "Private/Settings.js" I cant seem to find it anywhere on my iphone

Reason: common sense? LOL
Right now I've just fit the standard inav theme and lock screen I'm trying to get tethering to work with my XP asus EEE which I posted in general iPhone I think. After I get that working I'll focus on the serious modding! Can't wait hahaah
