replacing instead of winterboard
So we all love our winterboards and our custom EVERYTHING, but as we all know it IS a memory hogger. Have any of you though of instead of running winterboard you simply replace the icons/images/ui/etc. on the phone intself? Wouldnt that use up less of your memory?

Ive never had an issue with Winterboard and memory.
Yes you could replace alot of stuff manually, it would be a major PITA....and some stuff cannot be done without winterboard.

springboard background for instance, especially video.
extras like weather, clock, lockscreen addons.
sounds i dont think are easily changed without winterboard either.Being an i can be a lot of pressure. you have to live right up to the small point.

I have replaced things like sliders, system strings, and others as well. i made folders that when i do need to restore i just quickly drang drop, it does take longer but for as many times as i restore i can do it with my eyes closed. i currently am using winterboard for only two changes, itunes interface and keyboard.
