Is there a way to change the text where it says iPod in the status bar? If so, whats the limit on characters and how do i go about doing it. Any help is appreciated.
NVM, i found MIM. this can be deleted if required. Thanks
If you want, you can put whatever picture you want instead of the "iPod" text as long as the picture you put is in the good format.
You need to create to PNG file ( "Default_CARRIER_IPOD.PNG" & "FSO_CARRIER_IPOD.PNG" ). The height of those pic has to be 20px. For the width, you can choose any resolution between 1px and 100px.
Into those pics, you can put whatever you want. I used MSPAINT. The Default...PNG picture is the one that shows up when the status bar is grey. The FSO...PNG is when the status bar is black (when you are on springboard).
-Once the two pictures are ready, SSH into you iPod to folder /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app
-Rename the existing files:
->Default_CARRIER_IPOD.PNG to Default_CARRIER_IPOD(bck).PNG
->FSO_CARRIER_IPOD.PNG to FSO_CARRIER_IPOD(bck).PNG
-Import into springboard.app the new pictures you made
-Respring your iPod
-Enjoy
Kk so I'm a newb to this kinda thing too I replaced the images saveing the old ones by adding the extension .bk then I sshed in and put in my own images name just like the originals respring and they don't show up reboot and they don't show up... I can see then there and they are the images I put there but they just don't show up...
What is the resolution of your image? it must be (1px to 100px) X 20px
What is the format of your picture? It must be PNG
In the name of the image file, did you wrote it exactly like the original considering capital letters?
If all of these are correct, me be you should chmod your image file to 755...
